During a press briefing, Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) boss Mohamed Amin appeared to contradict on the matter of femicide. He further insisted that the crime is not gender-based.

One of the recent femicide cases involved the murder of 3 women in Eastleigh last week who went missing on 21st October and two suspects already have been detained and soon to be arrested and prosecuted.
Nuseiba Dahir (12), Waris Daud (38) and Amina Abdirashad (23) were killed last week''My appeal is that there should be no panic, no cause for alarm at all. Nobody is specifically targeting women and as for the criminals, we are hot in their heels within no time, we shall apprehend them and they will face full force of the law,'' he added.
