BOMET: 19-year-old KCSE candidate arrested for alleged sodomizing a 7-year-old boy

A 19-year-old KCSE candidate from Koiwa Central Mixed Secondary School has been arrested at Konoin Police Station in Bomet county for allegedly sodomizing a 7-year-old boy. The action comes after the suspect bought snacks and some soft drinks for him. David Kiandie, sub-county police commander confirmed the scene. ''It is unfortunate incident, and we are doing all that is possible to get the root cause of the issue, children's rights should be protected at all costs. We are calling upon anyone with more information to assist with the investigation,'' he said. However, the suspect will still sit for his exams under police watch until taken to court.

  MIGORI: Female KCSE Candidate Dies in Mid-Exams Moline Atieno, 19, KCSE candidate from Okumbo Mixed Secondary School   has died while writing her exams. The cause of her death was due to complications of heart and kidney. Police officers from have taken her body to Migori County Referral Hospital. This comes after few weeks in Meru where a male KSCE candidate died just before beginning of exams on 4th November. Cases of candidates' death before and during exams have emerge questions about students' health. However, teenage pregnancies of most Form Four candidates are forced to sit for their exams at maternity wards.

 DP Kindiki Appointed as UDA Deputy Party Leader from Gachagua Deputy President Kithure Kindiki United Democratic Alliance (UDA) party has named Deputy President Kindiki been the deputy party leader. This is after the party has removed Rigathi Gachagua, former DP who was ousted by National Assembly and The Senate. The UDA chairperson Cecily Mbarire and Secretary General Hassan Omar held a meeting with the National Executive Commitee (NEC) on Monday morning. However, the naming of Kindiki as deputy party leader was an achievement due to Gachagua's impeachment leading the party to deliver its duties. Nairobi: Transport Fare Hikes Following Morning Rains PHOTO | Residents passing by during rains On Monday morning residents from Nairobi have experienced heavy rains unto which resulting to hike of fare prices. Areas along Waiyaki Way leading to Kikuyu, Thika Road, Kitengela and Ruaka are the major towns experienced with heavy downpour causing floods along the streets. Most matatu operators have taken advantage by raising up transport fares. Last week, the Kenya Meteorological Department predicted the heavy rains.  HOMA BAY: 8 Teachers Arrested for Alleged Exam Irregularity PHOTO: Police Handcuffs  Eight teachers from Pala Masogo Secondary School in Homa Bay County have been arrested on Monday for alleged photocopying Chemistry exam paper. Police have detained the teachers include school manager, invigilators and other teachers in Homa Bay Police Station. Homa Bay-Sub County Police Commander, Emmanuel Kiplagat, have confirmed the arrests. The faulting was intended for a student who was hospitalized.  The commander also noted the eight are still detained to undergo arraignment process. The officials from Ministry of Education have replaced all the entire invigilators to ensure that all 119 candidates are not disrupted during examinations.

 KENYA: Government to Roll Out M-Pox Vaccination in December PS Mary Muthoni (MoH) Government has officially announced M-Pox vaccination through the Ministry of Health by Public Secretary Mary Muthoni Muriuki. On 1st December 2024, the country will kick off vaccinations to receive adequate supply of vaccines from the Africa Centre of Disease Control (CDC) to combat spread of viruses which was reported spreading in Africa. According to the report from MoH, it has confirmed a total of 14 Mpox cases reported in the country. These due cases are spread through traveling from one country to another. The PS said the ministry will keep key measures including training health workers and establishing specialized treatment units for a swift response. Former Radio Presenter Achieng Found Dead inside Boyfriend's House in Kahawa West PHOTO/ COURTESY Lilian Achieng Lilian Achieng Aluko, 33 old, a former local radio presenter has been found dead on Friday at his boyfriends' house in Kahawa West, Kiambu County. This is another femicide case brutally murdered and her body found inside boyfriend's house. Lilian was a radio presenter at Radio 44, a local radio station. According to police report, she was found with some visible injuries on face and ear stubbed from back. On Thursday, she informed her parents that she's leaving and therefore spending night at his boyfriend's place. ''She left at around 11a.m and told me she went to her friend. She did not return.
