DP Kindiki Appointed as UDA Deputy Party Leader from Gachagua
Deputy President Kithure Kindiki
United Democratic Alliance (UDA) party has named Deputy President Kindiki been the deputy party leader. This is after the party has removed Rigathi Gachagua, former DP who was ousted by National Assembly and The Senate.
The UDA chairperson Cecily Mbarire and Secretary General Hassan Omar held a meeting with the National Executive Commitee (NEC) on Monday morning.
However, the naming of Kindiki as deputy party leader was an achievement due to Gachagua's impeachment leading the party to deliver its duties. He assured the committee that he will be firm and deliver its duties to the party.
''I want to assure you to my unwavering party to the ideals that our party stands for. I will work with organs established under our party constitution for the good and better performance of our party,'' he said.
The DP also said he will remain loyal to the ruling party.
''I have been part of the journey this party has travelled since it was founded. My first responsibility is to be a loyal party member of UDA,'' Kindiki added.
In 2020, Professor Kithure Kindiki was among the founding members of UDA and led by President Ruto for the 2022 elections.
His predecessor, Gachagua who was seen to support Mt. Kenya only, Kindiki said the UDA party stands for all Kenyans despite different backgrounds.
