Inside President Ruto's meeting with Mt. Kenya leaders ahead of regional tour

President William Ruto on Monday had a crucial consultative meeting with Mt. Kenya leaders of next week planned area tour. Leaders attended include; Deputy President Kithure Kindiki, governors, principal secretaries and cabinet secretaries.

According to Statement, State House noted that the meeting focused on development projects aimed at accelerating growth, addressing local needs and ensuring that all Mt. Kenya residents benefit from the government’s agenda.

In the discussions, leaders also reviewed several stalled projects before Ruto official launch. They also raised concerns over increase in water tariffs across counties urging that the rising costs were making essential commodity unaffordable for various residents.

This meeting was to align both national and county governments' priorities to accelerate development agenda and drive inclusive growth.

Leaders also shared several insights on issues affecting the regions and identify key solutions to drive economic transformation.
